Course Details
For Spring, 2021, NEUR 200 will be entirely online. Lectures and some activities will be asynchronous. Other activities and exams will be synchronous during the normal class time: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30-10:45.
To get the most out of NEUR 200, students need a background in basic biology at the college level. The cell biology and general physiology components are especially important.

You can get that background from BSCI 170/171 (or an equivalent course).

An AP Biology course will also be suitable.

To be best prepared, you should have earned a 'C' or better in a college biology course or a 4 or better on the Biology AP exam.
NEUR 200 has been approved  for  General Education Distributive Studies, Non-lab Science (DSNS).
NEUR 200 is cross-listed as PSYC 202 and can fulfill course prerequisites and other requirements in the Psychology Department. This includes the Neuroscience Minor.
Two previous introductory neuroscience courses, PSYC 301 and BSCI 353, have been replaced by NEUR 200 and NEUR 306, respectively.
